“ AHHH!” I screamed so loud that the walls started to shake. I was on the phone with my mom and she had told me to come with her to her vet work in Westminster after Volleyball/ Basketball camp was out. I figured it must be a bunny! (as said in my bio poem, I want a bunny!) Hours passed before camp ended until... RING! The bell finally rang as I raced to change out of my uniform and leave through the doors. When we got to Banfield Vet Hospital, my mom and I put on scrubs, shoe covers, and gloves then walked into the room where the contagious animals stay, and I saw the most cute dog in the entire world! He was brown, black, and white with ears that are 5” tall and a curly tail. His name was Jito (heeto). My mom let me take him out of his cage to change his catheter, and he got on my legs and licked my cheek! He was so sweet! He was sick with parvo, and he used all his energy to lick me! I knew right then and there that that dog was mine. A day later, my mom said that the owners of Jito couldn't pay the medical bill to keep him, so he was up for adoption. Eventually, the owners just gave up on paying, and he had no parents. I was sad for the owners, but happy that I had a chance to get a new dog! The next Monday, My mom told me that we could get Jito for half price if I wanted. Duh! How could I not want the most precious dog in the world! At last, I got my new dog, Delgado (I renamed him) and is my most best friend in the entire world! By: Peri Sandusky
